Do you think you have what it takes to become a Platte Valley Firefighter?

Unlike most volunteer departments in the area, PVFPD does not require its members to live in district! We pride ourself’s on taking people from all walks of life. We currently have a 43 member staff, 37 of which are completely volunteer. Our career staff consists of:

» Fire Chief
» Fire Marshall
» Office Administrator
» 3 Captains (A, B, and C shift)
» 3 Firefighters (A, B, and C shift)

Among all of that we also have 46 volunteer members which include:

» 3 volunteer lieutenants
» 43 firefighters

After you submit your application, it will be reviewed by the Fire Chief. After review of your application, you will be asked to attend Monday night trainings in order for you to get a feel for the department. The applicant will then have to interview in front of a selected panel of firefighters, lieutenants, and captains. If you successfully pass the interview, you will then move on to the Chief’s interview. If you pass the chief’s interview, you will then be asked to join the Platte Valley Fire Protection District.
